A Step Inside Whistle Punk Farm Deli

Along with the recent reconstruction, many of the vacant buildings in downtown Brunswick have been filled by small businesses. One in particular stands out with its local, delicious vibe. Whistle Punk offers a vast array of sandwiches, paninis, subs, salads, and catering.

Quick, Local, and Delicious

Whistle Punk is not much of a dine in kind of place but the food definitely made up for it. The lack of good sandwich spots near by drew me in. Inside, it was simple but still showed a lot of character. Alongside the big windows and natural light, there were many happy plants which gave a feeling the food would be fresh. There were also plenty of fun products to browse that make it feel like the food came out in only seconds. When it did come, I went home and opened up my Whistle Punk Panini, $12,  which consists of pesto, spinach, salami, prosciutto, provolone, roasted peppers, and sun dried tomatoes on sourdough. You can already imagine how much flavor there was. One bite, boom, I’m in flavor town. They have fun with their menu and change it up very often but the Whistle Punk Panini was so good—I know it’s staying forever.

Whistle Punk’s Delicious Legacy

Whistle Punk started out as just a farm and they would sell their treats and meats at their local farmers markets. Their owner, Alexis Holland, became very popular at the markets by holding demonstrations on how to prepare certain cuts of meat that aren’t typically sold in stores. Their love for cooking local, seasonal foods inspired them to go from food trailer, to food truck and eventually their own building in downtown Brunswick.

Local Producers Partnered Up

Not only do they source their food from local farms but they also open their space to local makers. They allow the producers in the area who don’t have a shop to sell their items to sell them out of their location in Brunswick, “It’s all about community and supporting each other” said Holland, “Anything you find in here is locally sourced!”

Don’t Miss Out!

Not only is their menu delicious, it’s constantly changing. They are constantly inspired and think, “What ingredients do we have? What can we do differently today?” Holland says, “We get bored if we make the same thing over and over.” So don’t wait, your favorite meal may be gone tomorrow.
