Brunswick High has the opportunity to provide different seasons of sports including fall, winter, and spring. However, students tend to do more than one season of sports throughout the school year. Spring sports are a popular season due to the weather starting to warm up and the sports provided. With this, individuals that also play a winter sport are seeing that there isn’t a significant break between the winter and spring season. Max Foltz is a sophomore at Brunswick and plays both a winter and spring sport. He plays basketball and baseball. Emmeline Marra is also a sophomore and, as well as Max, plays a winter and spring sport. She swims and plays lacrosse.

Both Brunswick sophomores share how they feel with the jump between the two seasons. They give their honest opinion and give the scoop on the sports they play.

What Do You Like About Baseball?

“Brunswick baseball is known for being good and my favorite part about baseball is the competitiveness within our own team and the other teams in the county. Varsity just won states last year and are looking to do it again this year. The guys are hype which makes a good competitive atmosphere.”

What Do You Like About Basketball?

“Brunswick Basketball is not known for being good so i like being the underdog. It makes beating a team feel more fun. I like being counted out then beating a team we shouldn’t beat.”

How Do You Feel About The jump From The Two Season?

“I like it honestly, having a little break would be nice, but having no break keeps me in shape and allows me to stay active.”

What Do You Like About Sports?

“The competitive nature and the fact that it’s fun to play.”

Is There Anything You Want To Add About The New Season Of Baseball?

“Let the other 1A schools know that Brunswick is going to be back to back state champs.”

Emmeline Marra: Sophomore Athlete—Swim & Lacrosse

What Did You Enjoy about doing Swim?

“The kind people and the adrenaline rush when you stand up on the block.”

What Do You Like About Lacrosse?

“The connection I have with the team and the fast pace of the game.”

Do You Feel Overwhelmed With The Jump Between Seasons?

“No, Although I like both sports, after doing a sort for awhile it becomes boring, but then i have another sport i look forward to doing”

Did You Get Any Break Before Starting The Spring Season?

“No, while swimming was ending, I was attending the lacrosse conditioning. I like to be busy.”

What Sport Season Do You Like More?

“Lacrosse season, because everyone is kind and patient, and personally i think lacrosse is a really fun sport to play.”

Both sophomores express their personal opinions on the jump between the two seasons. They both explain that they enjoy being busy and don’t mind the “no breaks.” Other student athletes may disagree, but from previous debates having no break isn’t as bad as it seems. Both sophomores relatively have the same answer and express their enjoyment towards both sport seasons.
