Brunswick High School has dozens of sports teams representing our community, is men’s volleyball soon to be another?

Due to a lack of interest, Brunswick High School cannot offer a boys volleyball program, despite the fact that a women’s team is available. While volleyball might not be as popular as other men’s sports, Brunswick is not without male players interested in this high intensity game. Everyday after school a group of students head over to a sand volleyball court to play, and they will soon be making a club to represent themselves.

When asked, teachers and students believed that a men’s volleyball team would be great for the school.

A teacher here at Brunswick said, “I think it’d be good. I don’t know why there isn’t already one.”

Schools across the county have expressed interest in men’s volleyball and many students have talked about it for years, it has always been a common topic in our school and it was only a matter of time before people started representing our community unofficially.

A player, a junior, Michael Cunanan said, “I play volleyball every day because it’s so much more relaxed than other sports I play. Playing volleyball after school is my favorite part of every day.”
