What does being a part of the literary magazine The Creative Conductor mean to you?
Being a part of the literary magazine of The Creative Conductor means nothing to me as I have not been a part of it, yet. Although, if I was a part of it, I’d find value in it through sharing works of art to my community.
How has writing impacted you?
Writing has impacted me in such a way, that to even enact in writing would be a disservice to honor it’s impact on me. Writing has opened many many doors to me, and continues to; be it out of fun for friends and family, necessity for responsibility, or as a window into my perspective and creative thought process.
What advice do you have for upcoming creative writing students?
Have fun with creative writing. It’s a class not meant to be arduous and stressful; rather, it’s a class meant to challenge your skills and evoke creativity through the works of art you create.
Favorite high school memory?
My favorite high school memory is something I cannot recollect. I’ve shared many fond memories at this high school with my friends and teachers alike. Whether it’s sweet or cruel irony, all of the nostalgia and warmth I take from this place melds together in not one memory, but a period in my life where I can look back on it and feel fulfilled. I think that this is a place where if you lend yourself to it, and apply yourself, you can find value in not only memories you may make here, but also the lessons that reveal themselves along the way.
What are your plans after high school?
My plans after high school are enrolling in the state trooper cadet program for Maryland. I’ll then be in the paid cadet program for two years until I’ll be eligible to get training to become a state trooper for Maryland via the state trooper police academy. Then once I’m a state trooper and have another two years under my belt, I’ll have gained my associates from the academy, and will have the opportunity to also go back to school where I’ll major in criminal justice and minor in psychology. This is paid for by my program through to my masters degree. I plan on taking advantage of this and getting my masters through an in-state college. Once I have my masters I’ll resume my state trooper work and will do so for another two years. Then I’ll be allowed to transfer into a multitude of specialized fields of work. One of these fields is detective work which is my dream job. That’s what I plan to do after high school.
