As of this past fall season, Brunswick’s very own golf team managed to make history for the school. Throughout the whole standing of our golf team, not once had they made the venture to states. But as of this year, the Brunswick Golf program managed to best all odds and go all the way. Now, even with the elimination in the first round, just the sheer fact that they made it is something to celebrate.

This year was the first year in the history of Brunswick that our golf team has made it to states. This feat has brought the much needed attention to the team.

The players who made it consisted of Jared Struss (Senior), Hank Adams (Junior), Luke Adams (Junior), Alexandra Swam (Sophomore), and their head coach and teacher, Mr. John Yoho.

The season started in October of this year—and was a long way to go from states. It’s not often that Brunswick makes states for many sports, but as of this fall sports season, the trends are changing. An enlightening interview of member Alexandra Swam, revealed her personal thoughts on the season, “This past season our team had an amazing record of being 2-10-1, we were very consistent which is very important in any sport.”

After discussing further on the goals for the future, Alexandra had big plans ahead, she stated, “Next season we hope to make it to the second day of states, and I believe we can achieve that.”

With a brief recap of the past fall season, further insight was given on how monumental this year was for Brunswick’s golf team, and Brunswick’s sports scene as a whole.
