Struggling to figure out what games to play?

Here are the current top three highly anticipated games for gamers in 2026.

Resident Evil: Requiem: (Rated M for Mature)

Resident Evil: Requiem (RE 9) is a continuation of Capcom’s extremely popular survival horror series consisting of 13 main games. The announcement of its development was on June 6, 2025, and was later released to the public on February 26, 2026.

The main concept of the game is returning to Racoon City after the zombie outbreak that occurred in 1988 after the government approved a sterilization operation that consisted of a missile strike to destroy the city in an attempt to contain the outbreak, preventing its spread.

At the beginning of the game, the player will play as “Grace Ashcroft,” an FBI Intelligence Analyst. Later in the game, the player will switch POV several times throughout the game, switching between Grace, and the very well known “Leon. S. Kennedy,” a survivor of the Racoon City Incident.

The classic survival horror of Resident Evil: Requiem will consist of combat, investigations, puzzles, and resource management.

Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6): (Rated M for Mature)

GTA 6 is a continuation of the popular GTA series, featuring several different and familiar faces throughout all of Rockstar Game’s popular series. Rockstar had announced in February 2022 that GTA 6 was in development, and with a very recent announcement that GTA 6 was going to be officially released to the public in September of 2026.

According to Rockstar, the narrative focus of the game is to follow dual protagonists, Lucia and Jason with the story revolving around trust, loyalty, and surviving in a criminal conspiracy. The game based on leaks and the trailers is said to have extremely detailed graphics to give the player a feeling of realism.

The overall focus of Rockstar is to deliver a transformative experience that combines high-stake story telling with a realistic world.

Brunswick senior, Alexander Marsh-Brandes, also plays GTA often and shared his experiences with the game.

“Knowing that the game is quite old, it’s pretty impressive how detailed it is to other recent games, and I honestly can’t wait for the next game to come out,” Marsh-Brandes said. “And I can only believe that it’s going to be outstanding. Other things I enjoy about the game are the sound effects, when you put on headphones it becomes very immersive you get in the mood, you do the story witch is very long, it took me about three days to complete, it’s definitely got a lot of depth.”

Fable: (Rated M for Mature)

The new Fable is a full reboot of the action-RPG (Role-Playing Game) series out of its 3 main number games that is being developed by Playground Games, and is expected to release in Autumn of 2026.

The player starts off as a child in “Brier Hill” before they encounter a mysterious stranger that initiates a quest to become a hero of the player’s world. The game will feature different types of combat to fit any player’s personal preferences, allowing the player to have a more immersive experience.

The game will also feature real world experiences like buying property, and economy management. With the new Fable in development, it is expected to bring all the factors of the previous games into a more modern looking manner.
