Throughout the year, students worked on building, programming, and 3D-designing robots while also promoting STEM education in the community.

Both teams competed at the regional competition, where Minerva’s Mechanics went undefeated and earned a spot at the FIRST World Championship in Houston, Texas.

The championship took place from April 29 to May 2 and included more than 300 teams from around the world.

The team’s robot, The Bron I, competed against some of the best robotics teams internationally.

Competition days included qualification matches, where teams were randomly paired into alliances, followed by playoff rounds where top-ranked teams could choose their alliance partners.

Minerva’s Mechanics had an impressive performance in the Lovelace Division, holding first place for much of the first day of competition.

By the playoffs, the team was ranked fifth in the division, allowing them to select strong alliance partners. The team went on to win Upper Bracket Round 1 and finished the season with an outstanding achievement. Currently, Team 11525 ranks 148th in the world.

Beyond the competition, students enjoyed meeting and working with people from different countries and backgrounds who shared the same interest in robotics and engineering.

Many team members shared the impact and lasting effect of the competition.

“It was a memorable and amazing experience to get to know so many different students with different backgrounds who share similar interests.”

Robotics Lead Coach Ms. Day said she is proud of the students and the effort they put in throughout the season.

“This opportunity is everything you make of it. The more work you put into it, the more you get out of it,” Day said.

The Brunswick Robotics Team proudly represented Brunswick High School and the city of Brunswick on an international stage.

Their success this season highlights the dedication, teamwork, and hard work that continue to make the program a source of pride for the school and community.
