The Garnet and Gold Gazette does a Faces of BHS post each week to highlight an amazing student, who has contributed to BHS and displayed qualities of leadership and is a hard-working student. This week the Gazette wants to highlight—Phoebe Carpenter, a senior.
Phoebe Carpenter came to BHS freshman year and for the past four years has been an active member within the Brunswick community. Phoebe has been a member of the BHS Poms team and is currently the Caption of the Poms team. She has worked hard to help others on the team learn choreography and connect the team through bonding activities.
Additionally, Carpenter is the senior class officer and successfully planned the senior parking spots event where seniors came out the evening before the first day of school to chalk parking spots. Also, Carpenter helped organize the Senior Sunrise. An event where seniors came out to the football field to watch the sunrise on the first day of school. She is also a member of BHS Student Government Association, in National Honor Society (NHS) and National Arts Honor Society (NAHS), then participates in BHS Full Steam Ahead, an adventure racing club for high school students.
Carpenter is a member and ambassador of the Academy for Fine Arts (AFA), where she spends half her school day at GTJHS in the AFA program for art. As an ambassador for the AFA, Carpenter helps run events that the AFA hosts, as well as attend school visits to inform students about what the AFA is and why they should apply to the program.
Furthermore, Phoebe is a well-rounded student who balances rigorous courses and a multitude of school extracurriculars. The Poms advisor Mr. Tuomey who has worked with Phoebe for the past four years.
