The Garnet and Gold Gazette does a Faces of BHS post each week to highlight an amazing student, who has contributed to Brunswick High School and displayed qualities of leadership and is a hard-working student. This week the Gazette wants to highlight Carter Vinar, a junior.
Vinar has been a student who contributes to the school community through involvement in various clubs and sports. Vinar has been a member of the BHS Varsity Baseball team for the past three years, playing as shortstop.
Alongside baseball, Vinar is a member of the BHS Unified Bocce Team. He has been on the team for the past two years. In Unified Bocce, each team is filled with general education students and Learning for Life students. Vinar enjoys being on the Unified Bocce because he gets to connect with the Learning for Life students and be a part of some competition.
“I enjoy it because it promotes an inclusive environment and allows for leadership opportunities,” Vinar said about why he enjoys Unified Bocce.
Furthermore, Vinar is a third-year member of BHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). He has always been an active participant in FCA as his faith is just as important to him as his sports. Additionally, Vinar has participated in student government for the past three years where he has helped plan events focusing on school spirit. Vinar is also involved in the BHS Millionaires Club. The Millionaire’s Club is where BHS students can participate in a mock stock market challenge simulation. All his experiences in a diverse group of clubs have made him an excellent candidate for Faces of BHS. He truly embodies what a Railroader should look like for underclassmen to learn to lead as an example.
