This past fall season was a great representation of Brunswick’s potential athletic prowess. As of this past season, the boys Cross Country (XC) team won the State title for 1A schools in Maryland, This triumphant victory is a step in the right direction of showing everyone how Brunswick can go the distance, and the potential we hold.

The seniors on the Cross Country team are Caleb Shullenburger, Marco Mosely, Andrew Sterling, and Ben Weatherhead. The head coaches are Mrs. Zumbach, and her husband Lee Zumbach. To find the whole roster, visit MileSplit.com.

We had a really good season this year so I feel really good about it. Through out the season my times got better leading up to States. Then we won states with lots of good times from the team.

It’s about time for a change; this much success in athletics has been unprecedented until the 2021-22 Fall and Spring seasons. We’re ready and have the spirit to turn the tides. These runners have put the work in that was needed to pull through. We have great amounts of talent on our XC team, and a few years to keep showing it.

Sophomore runner, Morgan Corwine, shared his opinion on the season. He says, “We had a really good season this year so I feel really good about it. Throughout the season my times got better leading up to States. Then we won states with lots of good times from the team.” He also shared how he felt on years to come, ”After this year we are losing 5 varsity runners because of their graduation. But I think we have a chance to come back with a good team next year, and there is definitely still potential for the team.” Pride is held in the name of our XC team.  To put it shortly, our coaches and staff really put in the work to bring it home for Brunswick.
