After FCPS’s winter break, students were greeted with a New Year’s surprise… a new updated staircase. In order to keep the staircase under code, FCPS decided to put up a new structure along the stairs to keep students from falling off.  Many students have said that the new structures are alarming. Ironically, the stairs still remain not up to code due to the large gaps between each step without backs to them.

UPDATE:  After the picture of the week was posted yesterday, January 8th, students have started adding locks to the structured banisters along the stairwell.
