Ramata Sautter is a sophomore at Brunswick High School known for her kind personality, the sports she plays, and the clubs she’s in.
Within sports, she participates in Cross Country and Winter Track and Field.
“I like the sports I play because it pushes my limits, but also because of the people in the sports. I’ve met really cool and kind people, and they’ve supported me more than I could’ve ever supported myself,” Sautter said.
Sautter also is in the BHS drama club and has done two shows as both an actor on stage and on tech behind the scenes. Not only does Sautter participate in drama but she’s interested in the medical field and is currently enrolled in a program at the Career and Technology Center (CTC).
“I currently attend the Medical Assisting Program at CTC, and I’m getting certified in December. I want a career in the medical field, whether I become a general physician, dermatologist or a clinical nurse,” Sautter said.
Although Sautter isn’t sure what college she wants to attend or what specific profession in the medical field she wants to pursue, she knows she wants to help people.
“I have no idea what college I want to go to but preferably one that’ll support me and my educational journey. After college, I’m looking towards joining the Peace Corps for a bit, and see where that’ll take me,” Sautter said.
Outside of school, Sautter enjoys reading, watching TV and hanging out with friends and family. Sautter explains that she’s grateful for those around her.
“I’d like to think I have a pretty big support system, consisting of my family, friends, and teammates,” Sautter said. “Even though I tend to fumble, they’re there for me every step of the way, and its truly inspiring. And for that I’m forever grateful.”
One of Sautter’s friends, Haiden Rodgers, a fellow sophomore, also had something to say about Sautter and who she is as a person.
“Maty is a very kind and smart person and I’m grateful I get to call her one of my closest friends. She is able to truly find the good in everyone no matter who they are. She’s the first one to step up and help in any situation and make sure nobody is left out of any activity,” Rodgers said.
