At the annual Grammys award show, many artists shocked the crowd by breaking new records and expressing their beliefs and gratitude during speeches.
Throughout the biggest night of the year in the music industry, artists and actors were spotted on the red carpet wearing “ICE OUT” pins, and some celebrities broke their silence about their beliefs on the political standings of the U.S. at the moment throughout the ceremony.
Many artists such as Tyler the Creator, Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Addison Rae, Alex Warren, KATSEYE, and many more gave high energy performances. Olivia Dean, KATSEYE, Alex Warren, and Addison Rae all made their Grammy stage debut at the 60th Grammy.
The host of the Grammys, Trevor Noah, set the tone by sharing political jokes with the audience between performances and awards.
The upcoming Super Bowl LX halftime performer, Bad Bunny, won album of the year with “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS,” making that the first Spanish-speaking album to win that category in 68 years, according to ABC News.

In Bad Bunny’s acceptance speech, he criticized the deployment of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) in U.S. cities, Bad Bunny said, “Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say, ICE out. We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans, and we were Americans. Also, I will say to people, I know it’s tough to know not to hate these days, and I was thinking sometimes, we get contaminados [contaminated] … I don’t know how to say that in English. The hate gets more powerful with more hate.”
Additionally, rapper Kenderick Lamar, now holds the record for most awarded hip-hop artist with 27 Grammys. This surpassed Jay-Z with the most awards.
The block-bluster hit movie “K-Pop Demon Hunters” won a Grammy for “best song written for visual media” This win was K-Pop’s first ever win at the Grammys.
Whereas, Sabrina Carpenter, pop artist, was nominated for six Grammys, but went home empty handed. This has made her zero-six in Grammy wins this year, even though she was one of the biggest Grammy nominated artists at the 2026 Grammys.
Furthermore, besides Bad Bunny speaking out about I.C.E., many other celebrities broke their silence about their beliefs on the political standings of the U.S. at the moment.
Pop artist, Olivia Dean, won her first ever Grammy for “Best New Artist”, she said in her acceptance speech, “I want to say I’m up here as a granddaughter of an immigrant. I wouldn’t be here. I’m a product of bravery, and I think those people deserve to be celebrated.We’re nothing without each other. Thank you so much. I love you.”

Notably, Noah highlighted the absence of rapper and newly outspoken Trump supporter, Nicki Minaj, saying Minaj and Trump were likely together at the White House at the time of the ceremony. Additionally, Noah made jokes about Diddy and the Epstein Files.
Later on, pop artist Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas won “song of the year” with their hit “Wildflower.” In their acceptance speech Eilish spoke out against I.C.E. and said, “…And as grateful as I feel, I honestly don’t feel like I need to say anything but that no one is illegal on stolen land,” Eilish said. “Yeah, it’s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now and I just feel really hopeful in this room and I feel like we need to just keep fighting and speaking up and protesting. Our voices really do matter and people matter.”
Many individuals online began to share their thoughts and opinions on the 2026 Grammys soon after the ceremony concluded.
“My favorite part about the 2026 Grammys was the fact that Billie Eilish won a Grammy. Additionally, the fact that many celebrities spoke out against ICE,” junior Ava Higgins said.
“I enjoyed Lady Gaga’s Abracadabra performance in particular because it demonstrated a style she hadn’t shown before,” senior Chellsie Shoemaker said.
